OUTREACH

Chronic mental and neurological illnesses require long term therapy to maintain control over the disease and prevent relapses. This results in a “treatment gap” where patients who require treatment are unable to receive it because of logistical difficulties in accessing care, financial issues and lack of social support leading to interruption of treatment and care.

SAN-KER aims to ensure continuation of care for such patients by facilitating their access to treatment by our outreach programs. These programs involve a Daycare Centre at Jowai, Outpatient Consultation Services on a regular basis at other districts in the state and a partnership with community based rehabilitation (CBR) workers for ensuring regular updates about their clinical condition and a continuous supply of medications to patients.
